“Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday handed over a cheque of Rs 10 lac as financial assistance to the wife of Dr. Amit Singh Damia after his death because of cardiac arrest during COVID duty”

This financial help has been provided to the family of Dr. Amit Singh Damia from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. CM Arvind Kejriwal said that we will always stand with frontline workers and we are proud of Dr. Amit Singh for his service. He said that he hopes that this financial aid helps the family of Dr Amit Singh.
Dr. Amit Singh Damia’s wife Ms Manmeet Alang met Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal at his residence today accompanied by her mother and child. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal expressed deep grief over the demise of Dr. Amit Singh and while condoling the family, said, “Dr. Amit did continuous duty during Corona and served Corona patients with full dedication. I met his family today and handed over a cheque of Rs 10 lakh to the family as financial aid. This is a small gesture of help from our side. We will always stand with the frontline workers. We are proud of Dr. Amit Singh’s service. We hope this financial aid helps the family of Dr Amit Singh. We will always stand by the family.”
There, Dr. Singh’s wife Ms Manmeet Alang thanked CM Arvind Kejriwal for giving the financial aid and said that the Delhi Government stood by her in tough times and she is very grateful to CM Arvind Kejriwal for it.
Dr. Amit Singh was posted as Senior Resident on contract basis in the Department of Anesthesia, Swami Vivekananda Hospital. He was on Corona duty and while on duty, he had a cardiac arrest attack on 13 May 2021. He was admitted to the Civil Hospital in Haryana, where he unfortunately passed away. He was performing duty continuously during the Corona period and served the Corona patients with full dedication. He was the only earner in the family. He is survived by wife, mother and one child. The family lives in a rented house.
Dr Singh impressed everyone by doing his duty with full hard work and dedication. During his duty, he suffered a cardiac arrest attack and died. The Chief Minister took cognisance of the matter sympathetically and extended financial help on humanitarian grounds keeping in view the family situation.
