On Day of World Heart Day on September 29, 2018, a one-day health camp was organized by the Department of Health and Family Welfare, at the community health centers of Raipur, Bilaspur, Jashpur, Balodabazar, Mungeli, Gariya Band, Durg, Dhamtari and Rajnandgaon. In the camp people performed large number of screening, ECG, cholesterol and eco tests.

Health department officials said here that free eco checking was done in collaboration with the private hospitals of the district according to the requirement of patients. In the current environment, due to the lack of irregular lifestyles and unhealthy eating habits and physical hard work, the person is suffering from many diseases. Heart diseases can be considered as a high risk for this. Officials said that this scheme has been started to get relief from cardiovascular diseases for the children suffering from congenital heart disease of the age group up to 15 years in the state. Every year about 1000 children are being provided benefits under the Chief Minister’s Heart Scheme. The government has succeeded in saving the lives of thousands of children suffering from congenital heart disease. More than 8000 children have been treated for free treatment in the CM Child Heart Scheme.
