Najafgarh gets multi-specialty services hospital
New Delhi, May 03, 2018 : The Union Cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister ShriNarendraModi has given its approval for a proposal for establishing a 100 bedded hospital at Rural Health Training Centre (RHTC), Najafgarh, New Delhi at an estimated cost of about Rs. 95 Crore.

Expressing gratitude to the Prime Minister for his visionary leadership and constant support, Shri J P Nadda, Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare said that the approval follows the Prime Minister’s vision and upholds the spirit of ‘SabkaSaath, SabkaVikas’. “The Project envisages setting up of the 100 bedded multi-specialty hospital in underserved area ofNajafgarh in two years and will cater to the local population of 13.65 Lakh spread across 73 villages,” ShriNadda added.

“This hospital will address a long-standing healthcare access issue for the local population, especially for the vulnerable sections including women and children. It will provide child and maternal services, trauma care and basic primary diagnostic, therapeutic, preventive and curative services in the area,” ShriNadda elaborated.

Terming it historic, the Union Health Minister further said that the hospital will include four major clinical services in Medicine, Obstetrics &Gynecology, Pediatrics and Surgery, including a blood bank, diagnostic services and separate Out Patient Departments (OPD) for General Medicine, Surgery, Dental, ENT, Ophthalmology, audiometry and pediatric care. “The hospital will be well staffed with qualified manpowerof more than 30 doctors and 40 nurses, apart from 50 Allied and Healthcare staff,”ShriNadda stated.

It is estimated that the 100 bedded general hospital would be made fully operational by May 2020 along with all departments and requisite human resources.
