New Delhi, 22 March, 2021:

An inaugural ceremony of The Paras Cancer Conclave 2021 was organized today which was joined by Dr CS Pramesh, Director, Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai as the guest of honor and Dr GK Nath, Head NCI- AIIMS, Chief, IRCH, Delhi as the Chief Guest along with Dr Dharminder Nagar, MD, Paras Healthcare.

A three-day international health conclave focusing on cancer care in the post Covid-19 world will be organised through a virtual meet from March 19-21, 2021 by the Paras Cancer Centres, Gurugram, Patna, and Panchkula of Paras Hospitals. The Paras Cancer Conclave 2021 will focus on the theme of ‘Redefining the Cancer Care for the Next Decade’.

Over 7000 delegates, including oncologists and primary care physicians of all disciplines, from various reputed national and international institutions in USA, Europe, Nepal, Bangla Desh, UAE, Russia, Kenya, Nigeria will participate in the virtual event. There will be 40 hours of sessions spread over three days where expert Oncologists and Cancer Care specialists will deliver lectures on a series of topics.

Inaugrating the event, Dr Dharminder Nagar, MD, Paras Healthcare said, “In the midst of a world-wide pandemic that we are all still grappling with, no one needs to be particularly reminded of the sheer fear and dread that cancer triggers in each one of us. With cancer burden in the country expected to rise by 12% within the next four years, it is time that we give the disease the due respect and focus that it demands. And so, with the motto of Heal with Hope, Paras Healthcare has taken it upon itself to not only ‘wrestle this dreaded disease down’ but to heal while offering real hope to millions of current or potential cancer patients both in India and across the world. Being mindful of bridging the healthcare access gap between big metros and smaller towns, by virtue of the location of these Centres, we want to reach lakhs of cancer patients in smaller towns and nearby rural pockets and the hinterland, hitherto un-served or underserved segments.”

Dr (Col) R Ranga Rao, Chairman, Paras Cancer Centre, Paras Hospitals says, “In the post pandemic world the burden of cancer care has increased significantly. There is a new challenge for Oncologists, Cancer Specialists and hospitals to meet the demand post lockdown. The Paras Cancer Conclave will focus on the present, emerging and future trends of cancer care practices across the world. In addition to the recent advances, there are many other unique features, such as launch of a newly approved combination therapy (Ramicirumab and Erlotinib) in EGFR mutated lung cancer, and discussion on recently launched treatments in stage 4 breast cancers. ”
