New Delhi, May 11, 2021:

LafargeHolcim India, and its two operating companies, Ambuja Cements Limited, and ACC Limited, have undertaken immediate actions to aid the supply of oxygen in the city. It has already provided 200 Oxygen concentrators in Delhi to help tackle the pandemic and support the community.

The oxygen concentrators were transported on May 6, 2021 and supplied to four locations in the city – Guru Teg Bhadur Hospital, Yamuna Sports Complex, Asian Commonwealth Games Village, both of which are COVID centres, and Save Life Foundation.

Mr. Neeraj Akhoury

“The current health crisis in India requires all of us to become more responsible. The impact of this devastating pandemic is very painful. I pray that every patient gets the full support of our medical professionals, governments, and NGOs, to recover and return back to their families. We will continue to extend our support to the community members and authorities across India to counter the upheaval created by the Covid-19 pandemic,” said Mr Neeraj Akhoury, Managing Director & CEO, Ambuja Cements Limited.

LafargeHolcim India has stepped up its efforts across India. It has decided to set up an oxygen generating plant for the community of Nagaur district in Rajasthan, at the JLN Hospital, Nagaur with a capacity of 40-50 M3 (with daily refilling of around 175-200 cylinders).

To meet the increasing requirement, it has also set up an oxygen generating plant at Ambujanagar, Gujarat, which has a capacity of 35-40 cylinders a day at the flow rate of 10 Nm3/hr. LafargeHolcim India will continue to extend its support to communities and authorities in India in these difficult times.
