New Delhi, December 09, 2020 :

With a view to promote preventive healthcare management, ASSOCHAM has recently organized series of webinars under its Illness to Wellness campaign where renowned experts from various fields shared their respective views/expertise on various issues including health, hygiene, and well-being of people.

The COVID–19 pandemic has brought the whole idea of health, immunity, and hygiene at the centre-stage. Health, hygiene, and clean environment are inseparable component of overall health and well-being of a person. The outbreak of COVID–19 is potently threatening the global public health as this pandemic has a deep negative effect on overall physical and mental health of an individual.

During the winter, the prolonged exposure to increased air pollution can damage lungs, cause respiratory illnesses, weaken immune system, and has the potential to make even a mild COVID–19 infection complex.  People with chronic diseases and co-morbidities become more vulnerable to viral infections due to mix of air pollution and winters.

In winter, the severely poor air quality due to increased air pollution might lead to very conducive condition allowing coronavirus to travel faster and longer in air. Moreover, the social distancing is also not very effective or helpful in controlling corona virus.

With an objective to cascade mass awareness and disseminate knowledge and wisdom about preventive and curative measures of COVID-19 during current winter season, under Illness to Wellness Campaign ASSOCHAM is organizing a webinar on :

“Impact of COVID-19 duringWinter & Air Pollution” scheduled on Thursday, 10th December, 2020 from 11.00 am to 12.30 pm.
