Jaypee Hospital organized the 2nd edition of ‘Noida Grand Marathon’.

Noida, February 11, 2018: 

Emphasizing on the need to stay healthy, Jaypee Hospital, a Multi Super Specialty Hospital at Sector 128 Noida, organized the 2nd edition of “Noida Grand Marathon” today in collaboration with Piku Sports and other associations. The grand marathon had seven categories namely Ultra marathon of 52.2km, Full marathon of 42.2 km, 28 km, Half Marathon of 21.1 Km, 10 Km, 5 Km and 3 Km (Fun Run).  

The race for healthy life saw participation of more than 1500 people from Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad in action. The participants were from big corporates, NGO’s and other organizations. Students too actively participated in the grand marathon. The runners started from Jaypee Hospital towards Jaypee Wishtown to Pushta road to sector 135 then took a left turn from the roundabout towards Sector 130 and came back to Jaypee Hospital. This one stretch was of 14 Kms. People who participated in the Ultra run of 52.2 Kms took 3 rounds of the same stretch and then ran extra 10 kms taking a U- turn from the 5Km stretch. The marathon started at 5.30 in the morning and the runners who participated in the ultra run of 52.2 km stretch completed it by 11 am.

Motivating the runners, Dr. Manoj Luthra, CEO, Jaypee Hospital said, “We generally tend to ignore our health in our daily hustle and bustle. Having a healthy lifestyle and following a regular exercise regime is what the need of the hour is. Keeping this in mind, we decided to be a part of such a grand marathon and a noble cause to spread awareness among people highlighting the importance of healthy lifestyle.”

“I am delighted to see such huge participation of people of different age groups. Following our vision of promoting healthy lifestyle, we aim to organize more of such events for people at large in future,” Dr. Luthra added.    

A total cash prize of Rs. 2, 58, 000 was distributed among the winners. Jaypee Hospital provided the tracking chip fitted t – shirts to all the participants and also distributed prizes and trophies to the winners in collaboration with other associations. Jaypee Hospital also provided the medical help during the marathon.
