In a glittering ceremony the winners of the 6th CSR Health Impact Awards were honoured for their significance work around health and the environment during the pandemic.  The winners were recognized for path breaking around environment and health including critical issues of clean air, sanitation and pure water.

The occasion was graced by Ramdas Athawale Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, who distributed the awards to corporates and individuals while also lauding their efforts especially during the pandemic. The minister also added that “Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas” is possible only if we join hands to build a stronger and healthier nation. He further added that “the CSR funds played an important role in community building and rehabilitation during Covid 19”.

The event commenced with panel discussions with dozens of corporate and medical sector, who discussed about the role, challenges and opportunities around CSR initiatives and the gradual shift from charity to empowerment approach that is being witnessed in the post pandemic recovery phase.

Ashwini Kumar Choubey, Minister of State for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution and Environment, Forest and Climate Change also congratulated the winners and the IHW Council for their contribution in creating health awareness. He said that the pandemic was converted into an opportunity from an adversity through innovative research and ideas, while emphasizing that the country needed to work together towards economic development while also protecting the environment.

The CSR Health Impact Awards were constituted by Integrated Health & Wellbeing (IHW) Council to not only recognize significant CSR initiatives around health and environment but to also inspire organizations to drive a nationwide CSR–based health movement and to appeal to the corporate conscience of others to participate at a grander scale and make the movement stronger.

Kamal Narayan, CEO of IHW Council while commencing the event said that, “The pandemic has made all of us realize that health is a non-negotiable investment to ensure the progress and development of the country and our motto should be to encourage Health for All”.

The Awards were given in many categories including COVID Essential Heroes, COVID Social Impact Businesses, COVID Healthcare Providers, Covid Indigenous Response Project, Health CSR Project, Environment Impact Initiative and WASH Initiative. Also supper connect was the impact funding partner at the event. More than 50 individuals and organizations including Oxfam India, Oil India Limited, Sanofi India Limited, ICICI Lombard, Glenmark and Johnson & Johnson Private Limited were honoured for their exemplary work during the pandemic.
