New Delhi, December 20, 2020 :

With a view to promote preventive healthcare management, ASSOCHAM has recently organized series of webinars under its Illness to Wellness campaign where renowned experts from various fields shared their respective views/expertise on various issues including health, hygiene, and well-being of people. This campaign is running under CSR supported by SAVLON which is hand washing and hygiene product and digital media partnerswww.healthysoch.com

In 2015, the world came together to launch and accomplish the visionary and ambitious agenda for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). People, planet, peace, prosperity, collaborations, and partnerships are prioritized, with a commitment to leave no one behind. The SDG 3 “ensure healthy lives and promote wellbeing for all at all ages”.

Bones and joint pains are now not more a disorder that affects only elders rather these health conditions now common diseases among adults as well. Acute or chronic trauma, degenerative changes and the wear and tear of joints and joint structures over the time are the common causes of major bone injuries and health conditions.

The common orthopaedic health conditions and symptoms are bones and joint pains combined with joint stiffness or swelling, and limiting the range of motion including other health diseases and complications such as arthritis, muscular spasms and pains, knee, foot and ankle problems, neck, shoulders and back (lower back) pains, fractures and soft tissue injuries and other problems.

The emergence of COVID–19 has impacted orthopaedic patients worldwide and especially critically ill patients. Appropriate COVID behaviour have stringently restricted the physical movement of people especially people with other ailments and co-morbidities. These chronic, prolonged, and acute health problems and disorders severely aggravates especially during the winters. The problems become more complex for patients with co-morbidities.

We may reduce or mitigate our risk of bones and joint pains and health conditions by controlling and changing risk factors by doing regular strength training with stretching exercises, closely following treatment plan for medical conditions, learning correct posture, physical therapy, maintaining a healthy weight, strengthening our bones with diet management by including plenty of calcium and vitamins–D, etc.

With an objective to cascade public awareness and to disseminate knowledge & wisdom about preventive and curative measures of bones and joint pains during current scenario to live a healthier and happier life, ASSOCHAM, under Illness To Wellness campaign, is organizing a webinar on “Preventive and Curative Measures for Bones and Joint Pains During Winter & COVID–19” scheduled on Thursday, 24th December 2020 from 11.00 am to 12.30 pm.
