Studies suggest Spike in cases of Neurological Disorders in India

  • “The Neuroaid & Research Foundation (NRF) organizes event for awareness  of post recovery neuro rehabilitation and habilitation of children with special needs”
New Delhi, August 26, 2022:

With studies indicating spike in case of neurological ailments, clinicians and experts have aggressively started educating masses on management of neurological health complications and importance of a comprehensive post recovery rehabilitation. According to a report by The Lancet Global Health 2021, there has been an increase in the number of cases of non-communicable and injury related neurological disorders. These diseases include Stroke, Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, Meningitis which have been exacerbated by the Covid pandemic.

Neurological problems can result in difficulties with muscle function, speech, swallowing and social communication and if not attended to under expert supervision can cause lifelong health complications.

Facilities available at NRF’s NEUROAID-SHAKTI Centre include a high level of neuro rehab service, occupational therapy, speech language therapy, developmental paediatrics, clinical psychology and special education for children.   Hence to spearhead awareness and education around the same, NRF has been consistently interacting with people by means of events and interactive programmes. NEUROAID-SHAKTI will not only provide rehab services but also assist in respiratory rehab of long-Covid patients, and help with postural issues, given the sedentary lifestyle of today’s tech savvy young population glued to their mobiles, i-pads and laptops and much more.

NRF’s centres at DCMS – CR Park, Manav Ashray at Vasundhara Enclave and Udaan –  East of Kailash provide a high level of neuro and musculoskeletal physiotherapy.
